Citizens Bank of Nevada County Announces Name Change
Nevada City, California, April 20, 2006. Citizens Bancorp (the “Company”) (Pink Sheets: CZNB), the holding company of Citizens Bank of Nevada County (the “Bank”), announced that its Board of Directors approved a change of the Bank’s official name to “Citizens Bank of Northern California” in response to the geographic expansion of the Bank.
“With our Auburn Branch slated to open this summer the name change will provide us a common identity within the cities and counties we serve. While our name is changing our founding principles remain the same,” said President and Chief Executive Officer, Judy Hess. She added, “We are still very much an independent and true community bank with a local board of directors and 73 employees committed to providing the communities we serve with superior banking services… the Citizens Bank Way. Staying true to these values is what has made us the strong company we are today.”
Founded in February 1995, Citizens Bank, headquartered in Nevada City, became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company in 2003. The Bank has five branches in Nevada County, one in Nevada City, two in Grass Valley, one in Penn Valley and its newest branch in Lake of the Pines. Two new branches have been scheduled for opening this summer, one in Truckee and one in Auburn, which will be the Bank’s first entry into neighboring Placer County. Today, the Bank offers community banking services in the Nevada County market, including a wide variety of deposit products, commercial, residential and consumer loans, and other traditional banking products and services, designed to meet the needs of small and middle market businesses and individuals.
